Tribute to Curtis
Soon I will update this page with photos and more info. But for now, you need to know that Curtis Geesamen is the young man who passed away last year at camp (from Dallas Texas). His testimony and the testimony of his parents, has not only had a huge impact on Fairfield West teens, but also on my life personally. They handled this horrible situation with grace from God. They still have praise for their God in the worst of storms.
This is what Job from the Bible did. His wife told him to curse God and die, but Job said in Job 1:21 “Naked I came out of my mother’s womb , and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”
These examples show the Christian that we are not just to praise God when things are great. Our relationship with God is not based on that. We are to praise God in the good and the bad. No matter how hard it is, we must always know that God is in control. This is such a living message of hope for every teen. So, we have established the Curtis Geesamen Camp Scholarship Fund. This is for the purpose of raising money to send students to LIFT camp who otherwise would have no other way to go. It is to be a hope for the student when there is no hope. Please contect me if you would like to contribute or be a recipiant of this fund.

We love and Miss you Curtis!
You changed my life for the better.
I’m not sure if I would have gotten it right that night at camp, but you made me realize that I could go at any moment.
And now i attempt to witness to all my friends that I can.
-Meagan.

Thank you so much, Geesamen family. You have no idea how much your contribution to the Curtis Geesamen Fund affects us. Many of us don’t have the money to go to camp, and we look to fundraisers to raise the money. Especially with the economy nowadays, it’s hard even getting people to participate and donate to our camp fund. The past 4 years I’ve gone to camp, my family has been able to contribute to help me pay my way. This year is different; I am relying solely on fundraisers and the camp fund for my money. I appreciate your help so much, as do the rest of the teens at Fairfield West. Thank you, and God bless you.
